We recommend you read through the information on the following risk factors and incorporate them into a Vehicle Access Agreement.
Legal driving situations that increase crash risk include:
- Driving with peer passengers.
- Driving at night.
- Being distracted (mobile phones, CD and MP3 players, etc).
- Driving in poor weather conditions.
- Driving on high-speed roads, and rural roads.
- Driving when tired.
Illegal behaviours that newly qualified drivers should never engage in include:
- Driving impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
- Driving recklessly (speeding, tailgating).
- Driving while using a mobile phone.
